SCRIPTURE COMMENTARY #566
Afterwards, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, said: "I thirst." Now there was a vessel set there, full of vinegar. And they, putting a sponge full of vinegar about hyssop, put it to his mouth. Jesus therefore, when he had taken the vinegar, said: "It is consummated." And bowing his head, he gave up the ghost. (John 19:28-30)

PROPHECIES FULFILLED BY THE DEATH OF JESUS ON THE CROSS:
1.  That of David (Ps. 21:17, 19): "They have dug My Hands and My Feet. . . . They parted My garments amongst them, and upon My vesture they cast lots."
2.  That of Isaiah (Is. 53:7): "He was offered because it was His own will, and He opened not His mouth. He shall be led as a sheep to the slaughter, and shall be as dumb as a lamb before his shearer."
3.  That of our Lord Himself (Matt. 20:19): "They (the Gentiles) shall crucify Him."
